Easter crafts

I have been working with adults lately in a very different setting. I craft with these adults when I can, they enjoy it. So we used large white paper, crayons, watercolor, construction paper, scissors and glue sticks and created bunny eggs!

 This is another project that I did with my after school program kids.
We spent two days on it. I drew some egg shapes on 8x10 inch construction paper for the kids to cut out. We spent the first day cutting out the egg shapes and choosing colors of paper we wanted then we made our stamps.
The stamps are made out of cut pieces of craft foam which we glued with white glue onto  precut pieces cardboard that we cut from old boxes.
On the second day when the glue on the stamp had dried we used a craft grade paint brush and brushed paint on the the stamp and printed  the egg by gently pressing on the back side on the cardboard stamp.

Easter eggs!

Easter eggs So every year for the last few years I have been working on some thing for Easter.I do not not remember when I become so holiday oriented but it happened.

This year i went back to a holiday favorite the plastic Eeaster egg! I got some of the smaller 2 inch eggs for the kids at work to have an Easter egg hunt with. I struggled with what to stuff them with. I did not want to go with candy. I used jewelery I had made a long time ago. I also used other things I hand made and some silly bands. I had some foam shapes, google eyes and some cotton balls. I created the little guys above with the supplies and some hot glue magic.

I created these decoupage eggs with: Modge Podge, some printed tissue paper, some confetti and more hot glue magic! These eggs are available for purchase through my sculptresslink etsy shop. Set of three with a matching basket.

On Sat April 7 the Sat of Easter weekend. I will be at Stella Art gallery and studio in East Rochester running a DIY workshop. We will be creating a Easter egg wall hanging.

A mixed media painting on 8x 10 inch canvas panel board which will hang from a ribbon.

We will be creating some Easter egg ornaments which are plastic eggs painted with acrylics and hanging from a cord.

The diy workshop is offered in the Stella Art Gallery and Studio spaces and you will be working in the space during the exhibition of Diversarty- a show of watercolor and drawings.

Easter projects

 Back when I was making Grape vines wreaths in late fall. I bent one into form and it looked like an Egg. So I have been saving that one for Easter/Spring. I Rochester Spring comes late and snow storms are still present though much of MARCH So I do not feel to bad about not getting to this sooner.

I found these little plastic eggs 24 in a bag at the Mr.Dollar and got a few bags.The kids on Friday got to have Easter egg hunts and then we painted the plastic eggs with acrylic paints. Instead of Easter basket we made Easter cups. We decorated paper cups with stickers and kids wrote their name on them with  Sharpie markers put wood shaved "grass" in the bottom of the cups. I did not get pictures of those yet but will later.

I also found this great tree form at Target for only 2.50. I figured it could have a lot of uses and it has so far like an earring display holder/jewelry holder but it also makes a great Easter egg tree.

The funny thing is I really do not even celebrate Easter abut I do celebrate the coming of spring  and these bright little eggies really inspired me.... I also LOVE jelly beans
