Puppetry at the MAG

This summer I got to teach puppetry to kids ages 7-13 not just one week but two weeks!

We made hand sewn and paper mace hand puppets as well as finger puppets and shadow puppets and envelope puppets. I love teaching puppets not just for the making but also for the acting with them.. I was so excited to teach this subject again that I even had students in my before and after school program make them prior to summer.

This is the comedic commerical for the Zine and Craft fair

In college as an undergrad.
I actaully took a class in puppet making. I feel in love with it. I used to make puppets for class and when my room mate and I had nothing better to do in college we put on puppet shows for fun and made videos. This video is my "commercial" to promote the upcoming Craft and Zine fair at the Flying Squirrel. Our fliers show this scene and the Rochester city skyline as depicted by artist Dan Jicirtino. I brought this image "to life" via puppetry.
