So I have been spending this last month working on some ceramic work. I am rethinking and rephotographing products on my etsy shops. I will be adding work slowly to both shops, more wooden earrings to my sculptresslink etsy shop and more hair fascinators and tassel earrings to my tribaltrends etsy shop. I will be back in the painting studio most likely in fall working on my tarot series but for the meantime clay is where it is at... So here are pics of the ceramic mosaic tiles I have been making and the small goddess figures I have been working on.

More sandwhihces and ATC's-last batch of sat classes for 2012

I just completed me most recent session of sat classes at the art gallery. Kids picked their favorite works of the first few we made and hung them in the show. Here's their work on display.

The gallery has some pieces by Claes Oldenburg that we got to look at after we made our sandwiches. We used craft foam and paper to make these sandwiches.

We also looked at examples from my collection of ATC and ACEO and then kids created their own using crayons watercolors and the resist method.

We did so much more then this but I did not get pictures of all the other work we did. We made collages, artist's books with their own prints, gumball machine mixed media pieces, polymer clay, and so much more in our 8 week session.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrt Matties Making Treasure Maps

These are so much fun to make and they are fairly easy. I have done this lesson with kindergarten and first graders. Start with plain white paper and draw the "island" and map with crayons. Be sure to include the x for where the treasure is buried. Other things to add can be a pirate ship, mermaids, palm trees and mountains. After you have draw the image tear the edges of the paper off to give it that old aged look. step three paint a thin wash of brown and yellow paint.

Clay Goddess Manifestation vessals

These are the clay Goddess Manifestation Vessals I have been making. They are small and hang on the wall with the tummy pockets being a place to put what you would like to manifest or have in your life. I started making these in 1997 after an inspiring trip to England. I thought now in 2012 it was a good time to get back into them again. I have never stopped working with the image of the Great Goddess but the Faith in Art show was a great time to display some of this work. I even made a incense burner
This last photo is of me along with the current work on display at Stella Art studios. You may recognize the paintings from my "Tarot" Series that were recently on display at the Genesee Co-op Credit Union. To the left of me is the "Goddess Calendar" I made in 2007 from Mexican Pottery Clay.

Mother Daughter combos

A while back a etsy shop fan of my tribal trends shop recommended mother daughter combo sets of hair things. So here are my two examples of just that. A combo set is a headband hair bunch and a alligator clip bunch that matches. To purchase go to tribaltrends.etsy.com.
